Last night we went to a birthday party (80th) for my long-time friend Brad. We worked together in stained glass for over 20 years going on glass buying trips, building windows, drawing designs, sharing commissions and he did a lot of my large installations. I got such a thrill yesterday morning! I had been out photographing a few places, then came home and sat outside for awhile. Not much happening in the yard, just some squirrels scurrying around, so after awhile I didn't even bother looking up from my reading. What a nice way to start off Saturday morning...
We just saw two Pileated Woodpeckers in our next door neighbor’s yard. Pete was looking out the kitchen window and spotted them first. I quickly looked and they were doing a sort of dance towards and around each other at the base of an old dead tree.
